The performance is truly mouthwatering. Despite having only rear-wheel drive, the 296 GTB can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The top speed is “over 330 km/h.” Sprinting from 0 to 200 km/h is still blisteringly fast: 7.3 seconds. A lap around Ferrari’s test track (Pista di Fiorano) takes only 1:21 minutes, making the 296 GTB faster than the F8 Tributo, which has a 720 hp V8 engine but no electric motor. Thanks to the electric motor, the 296 GTB can also drive purely electrically for about 25 kilometers.
